Visited the site today on the way back from the ‘broath. The ground works on the riverside are starting to take shape, however still a huge amount of earth moving to do, and the underpinning of course. Lades still need to be dug out too. Space looks so different with the river-edge trees chopped down. We had to bring these 4 trees down as their branches would have clashed with the extension ... means we can now fish straight from the decking!! Some photos of the site attached.
As a bit of an intro, the mill is located on the outskirts of the village of Finzean, near Banchory in Aberdeenshire. The building sits on the banks of the river Feugh with great views of open fields and the hills, including Clachnaben. We have been slogging through Aberdeenshire planning and building warrants for what feels like forever, but we now have everything in place and the ball is rolling!
I will endevour to update this blog weekly with updates and photos so will see how that goes! Please keep watching and here's hoping this thing doesn't bankrupt us!

Week 1: Started!
Started digging out the Mill last week! Houston we have lift off!! Unfortunately forgot my camera so no photos - will take some this weekend. Good news - Mill looks bigger than we though inside and the south wall has nice deep foundations ... Bad news - the other 3 walls need to be underpinned .... ouch.
